Sketch a Week

One sketch per week posted up as a motivational tool for me to produce more work and log progression.

Let's see how it goes. Let me know if I'm not true to my goals, I enjoy feedback!

Nasir Jones

We were given the choice to do anything we wanted for our final project in our core illustration class. I've been inspired lately by Nas' music, his message and the energy of his songs, so I chose to do a portrait. I also happen to get to see him in concert tonight at the Kool Haus, can't wait!

Bike Share

Illustration completed for a series of images as a pitch to re-brand Bike Share. Bike Share started off well with great enthusiasm in its goals and directions but as of this year is out of funding so will not be available in Toronto. Our focus was to display Bike Share in memorable moments, specifically those awkard moments we all remember and when we are in them can laugh at, at least after. And of course we had to have some fun with this.
One of those awkward moments caught on camera!

Child Crisis

I was inspired to make this a couple weeks ago and finally had some spare time to finish it. I'm putting my tablet to use and colouring on the computer again. A good balance.

8"x10" Photoshop

The problem presented displays how young children can be brought into an unhealthy relationship and are effected as a result.

Dragon Boy!

Heres a piece I had done mainly just because I need to keep up the painting. It's really just a fantasty realization from my head, great potential for a future series.
Acrylic on Rives BFK

Recently I have been developing a visual story of a boy and his many adventures, more to come.

Custom Made Sketchbook

Thanks to Hyein, I was able to get everything I needed to make my own custom sketchbook. The hardest part was threading the signatures (set of paper) together. Their are 36 pages of watercolour paper, but I use both sides so I count it as 72.

The cover was done with oils on 100% rag paper. Finally, I can paint in a sketchbook without the paper buckling.

Nigerian Email Fraud

An Illustration piece based on the Nigerian Email Scams that much of you get in your spam box. A 3 series illustration, reminiscent of 15th century Gothic triptychs.

Email Chosen: Son vouches for deceased father and wishes for someone else to donate money to Christian charities. The person who accepts this offer 'gets' 20% of 28 million dollars.
